Helping youth and families cope in today's changing world.

For more than 40 years, North Shore Youth Council has been dedicated to strengthening our North Shore communities through comprehensive, evidence-based programs and services for youth and families. Our work spans child care, enrichment, recreation, prevention, and mental health counseling—creating meaningful opportunities that support growth, wellness, and lifelong success.

Since our founding, we have positively impacted thousands of individuals, from kindergarten through college and beyond, while earning the continued trust and support of local elected officials, school districts, and the communities we proudly serve from Mount Sinai to Wading River and greater Suffolk County.

Our model for success is built on a unique life cycle of programs that engages children and teens at every stage of development while connecting families to a broader network of support. As young people grow, our programs grow with them—offering new opportunities to build essential life skills, strengthen confidence, and prepare for responsible, successful adulthood.

A cornerstone of our mission is ensuring that youth never simply age out of support. Instead, they are continually empowered with evolving opportunities for leadership, mentorship, service, and career development. By giving youth a platform to be heard and to help shape programs and community initiatives, we create pathways for meaningful involvement and positive decision-making.

The impact of this approach is lasting: many of the young people we serve return year after year, growing with us and eventually coming back as counselors, mentors, and staff members—helping to guide and inspire the next generation. This cycle of growth, leadership, and community investment is what makes North Shore Youth Council a lasting force for positive change.

Every act of giving strengthens our communities.
Find the way that’s right for you.
