The Robert E. Reid, Sr. Recreation Center is a dynamic partnership between the Town of Brookhaven and North Shore Youth Council, serving as a cornerstone of support, engagement, and wellness for individuals and families throughout the North Shore.

We are proud to provide a welcoming, inclusive space that enhances the quality of life for our community—offering recreational activities, health and wellness programs, community events, and a home for local organizations.

A Place to Connect. A Space to Grow. A Community That Thrives.

Recreation & Enrichment for All Ages
Whether you're a young child, teen, adult, or senior, there's something for everyone. Our diverse lineup of programs includes youth sports, creative arts, drop-in activities, and educational workshops that support healthy, balanced lifestyles.

Health & Wellness Programs
Our center prioritizes the physical and mental well-being of our community. From fitness classes to wellness seminars and mental health workshops, we’re committed to helping individuals stay active, informed, and resilient.

Community Events & Celebrations
Join us throughout the year for seasonal events, cultural celebrations, family fun nights, and more. These gatherings help build strong community connections and offer moments of joy, unity, and celebration.

Support for Local Organizations
We proudly open our doors to community-based groups and nonprofits looking for space to meet, collaborate, and serve. The center is a shared resource that brings people and organizations together in service of the greater good.

Medical Equipment Lending & Donation Program

Due to an abundance of medical equipment, we are not currently accepting any donations.

If you are in need of equipment, please contact us at 631-886-1463 or email
[email protected].
As part of our mission to serve and uplift the North Shore community, the Robert E. Reid, Sr. Recreation Center proudly offers a Medical Equipment Lending & Donation Program--a free, community-driven initiative designed to support individuals in need of mobility aids and other essential medical equipment.

How It Works

We accept gently used medical equipment and make it available, at no cost, to those who may need temporary or long-term support. This service is ideal for individuals recovering from surgery, seniors with mobility needs, or families facing unexpected medical challenges.

Available items may include:
  • Walkers
  • Wheelchairs
  • Rollators
  • Crutches
  • Canes
  • Scooters
  • Shower chairs
  • Bed rails
(and more, depending on current donations)

How to Borrow Equipment
If you or a loved one are in need of equipment:
  • Stop by the Recreation Center during operating hours
  • Call ahead to inquire about current availability
  • Borrow what you need--no cost, no insurance required
