School Age Child Care

Employment

Employment with North Shore Youth Council in our School Age Child Care programs gives teens and adults rewarding opportunities to work with children and impact their lives in positive ways. All staff working within each school district are responsible for providing safe and developmentally appropriate environments that are in accordance with all regulations and guidelines of North Shore Youth Council, the Suffolk County Child Care Council, and the New York State Office of Children and Family Services.
If you love working with children and are looking to gain experience in a child care setting, call us at 631-744-0207 to inquire about any available employment opportunities.

Child Care Worker

Child Care Workers provide support to the instructional child care programs and both implement and participate in age appropriate activities. They assist with activities and lessons by working with children individually or in small groups to present and reinforce learning concepts. Child Care Workers are responsible for interacting with children and playing with them during both quiet and active activities and monitoring them during various settings. They are also expected to uphold a positive environment that encourages children to learn, explore, and problem-solve.
North Shore Youth Council is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based organization, funded in part by the Town of Brookhaven, the County of Suffolk, the State of New York, the North Shore Consortium, and public and private donations.
