Licensed master social worker
North Shore Youth Council (NSYC), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based organization, is seeking a highly professional, motivated, and enthusiastic Licensed Master Social Worker to join our counseling team and provide clinical services to children, teens, young adults, and families. NSYC Clinicians are experienced in a wide range of issues, including anxiety, depression, addiction, alcohol and substance abuse, ADHD/ASD, social issues, behavioral issues, bereavement, and crisis intervention, and facilitate both individual counseling and group services to individuals ages 5+.
Counseling will be provided in person at our Wellness Center located in Shoreham and/or through our secure HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Days and hours are flexible and based on client/community need. Hours of operation are typically 1PM-8PM Monday through Friday. Clinical supervision with an on-staff LCSW-R, PhD is provided weekly.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide a wide range of direct services for clients and their families (minimum 4 clients), including, but not limited to, supportive counseling, psychotherapy, and/or crisis intervention.
Use a variety of therapy modalities to maximize client functioning and success.
Develop group programming and curriculum as requested.
Develop and maintain effective professional relationships and involvement with clients and their families.
Participate in consultations, clinical assessments, intakes, and evaluations.
Function in a consultative and educative capacity.
Keep and maintain appropriate notes and documentation (counseling sessions, case notes, strategies, goals, etc.) as required by NSYC and NYS.
Submit monthly statistical data.
Work as a collaborative member within the clinical team.
Work a flexible schedule to serve at-risk youth beyond the school day.
Adhere to all NSYC and NYS policies and regulations.
Participate in various meetings and off premises activities and outreach as requested.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field.
Must have and maintain New York State (NYS) Licensure.
Must have community-based service experience.
Background in alcohol/substance abuse prevention preferred.
Bilingual individuals, a plus.
Ability to relate clearly with youth and parents/guardians.
Clear understanding of NYS regulations of individual rights and confidentiality.
Excellent oral and written communication skills and abilities.
Capable of working as part of a collaborative team.
Self-starter and ability to work independently.
Must have a positive attitude, be energetic and personable, and exhibit good judgment and competency.
Must be flexible, organized, and able to function well in stressful situations.
This is a flexible part-time position, with a starting rate of $40 per hour and an increase to $45 per hour after a three month performance review. Opportunity to access Blue Cross Blue Shield Platinum insurance upon expanding caseload to full-time.

building attendant
North Shore Youth Council, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit community-based organization, is looking to add part-time team members to support the operations and initiatives of two of our facilities: the Heritage Center in Mount Sinai and the Robert E. Reid, Sr. Recreation Center in Shoreham. These centers offer a wide range of private and community events, recreational activities, and health and wellness programs for individuals of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
Opens and closes the building for rentals, private events, meetings, programs, etc.
Cleans and maintains building, bathrooms, and grounds as necessary
Sets up and breaks down the room for events with tables, chairs, and other needed equipment
Ensures the health and safety of all staff and patrons during events
Handles phone calls and in-person inquiries
Engages clients, patrons, and visitors with a friendly, helpful attitude
Performs other duties as assigned

School age child care worker
North Shore Youth Council (NSYC), a not-for-profit community-based agency, is seeking energetic and enthusiastic individuals to join our team working in our child care programs for the 2025-2026 school year. Our programs take place before and after school and service youth in kindergarten through fifth grade in the Mount Sinai, Rocky Point, and Shoreham-Wading River School Districts.
Child care workers work under the direction of the Site Director and are responsible for facilitating the daily lesson plans to children. Programs provide morning and afternoon child care and enrichment when school is in session, Monday through Friday, in the mornings from 6:45 AM to 9:30 AM and in the afternoons from 1:45 PM to 6:00 PM (actual program hours vary based on school). This is a part-time position that follows the school district calendar.
Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate the daily/weekly lesson plan and activities as directed by the Site Supervisor.
Provide direct leadership to the assigned group unless relieved properly by an appropriate staff person.
Maintain constant visual contact with all assigned children.
Maintain a safe and clean program area that complies with all standards and regulations of the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) and agency policies.
Develop and maintain a positive relationship with children, parents, school personnel, and NSYC staff.
Interact with children in a variety of both indoor and outdoor settings to provide a positive learning environment.
Attend all required training sessions and staff meetings.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma, or equivalent, required.
Must have at least one year of experience working with children under the age of 13.
Must be able to provide credentials, licenses, and/or certifications and submit to fingerprinting and background checks.
Knowledge, experience, and skills in the areas of child development, values, education, and group activities, a plus.
Experience with special needs students, a plus.
Valid First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus, but will provide training.
This is a part-time position at $16.50 per hour. Must be 18 years of age or older.
